Role Overview – Engagement Manager, Nature for Water Facility
This role supports the Nature for Water Facility (N4W), a technical assistance platform within TNC’s Resilient Watersheds Strategy. N4W assists local leaders in designing and implementing watershed investment programs (WIPs). Since 2022, N4W has supported over 40 global engagements.
The Engagement Manager co-leads place-based watershed projects with a Science Manager and oversees project success through stakeholder engagement, governance analysis, and financial modeling. This role requires a high degree of leadership, independence, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams across regions.
Key Responsibilities

Define and manage the scope of N4W’s place-based projects

Lead multidisciplinary internal and external teams

Identify and engage stakeholders and community partners
-
Conduct financial and economic appraisals, including financial modeling
-
Analyze and synthesize data across technical, social, institutional, and financial domains

Assess ecosystem service benefits and project costs
-
Present findings in meetings, publications, and conferences
-
Develop thought leadership in collaboration with the knowledge management team

Travel domestically/internationally up to 25%
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, political science, international development, or related field, and at least 4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)

Experience leading complex initiatives and managing teams or direct reports
-
Strong background in financial modeling and commercial evaluation
-
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in project finance, capital markets, or consulting
-
Graduate degree in business, economics, or environmental management
-
Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French
-
Experience with Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-cultural environments
-
Strong analytical and synthesis skills across disciplines
